RALEIGH – Sue Moore of Rocky Mount has received an Outstanding Alumna Award at Saint Mary's School in Raleigh. The award was presented at the school's annual reunion weekend luncheon.
The outstanding alumna award recognizes long-time service to the school through leadership and alumnae support. Moore has served the school as president of the St. Mary's Alumnae Association; as a member of the Board of Trustees, the Board of Visitors the Strategic Planning Committee and the Sesquicentennial celebration committee; and a commencement speaker. She also is a full-time community volunteer, known for her work for the last 20 years with breast cancer awareness. She sits on the Board of Visitors at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's Lineweaver Comprehensive Cancer Center where she was honored with an Outstanding Service Award. She is a charter member of the local Susan G. Komen affiliate.
White earns master's degree

East Carolina University announces Jeff White has received his master's degree in school administration during graduation exercises held May 9. He achieved a grade point average of 4.0.
White is assistant principal at Roanoke Rapids High School. He previously has been a teacher at Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools.
White and his wife, Amanda, live in Rocky Mount with their two sons, Jeffrey and Jackson.
Ramey graduates McCallie

Stephen Ramey was one of 149 seniors to graduate from McCallie School in on May 18. McCallie School, located on Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga, Tenn., is one of the nation's premiere college preparatory schools for boys.
While at McCallie, Stephen has been an honor roll student, captain of the Science Bowl team and a member of the National Honor Society and the crew team. Next year, he will attend N.C. State University with a Naval ROTC Award. Stephen is the son of Bruce and Adelia Ramey of Rocky Mount.
Brown joins Phi Theta Kappa

Latonya Brown was inducted into the Alpha Rho Psi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Community College of Baltimore County on April 19.
Brown of Rocky Mount is the daughter of John and Alice Faye Brown of Rocky Mount. She is majoring in information technology.
Established in 1918 by two-year college presidents, Phi Theta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious honor society serving two-year colleges around the world. The society serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming.
